About UsLearn about our beginnings.
After diligently seeking the Lord through prayer, fasting and consultation with his companion, Lady Kathy D. Williams, Bishop Curtis L. Williams, set his sight on establishing a Church of God in Christ in the city of Ozark, Alabama. Subsequently, while seeking a location, the Lord spoke to Lady Williams and gave her the name “Lively Stones” which was according to the scripture in I Peter 2:5. Peter said, “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” Due to an ordinance for the city of Ozark, Bishop Williams was confronted with immediate opposition to begin his journey. Standing on Lord’s promises and their commitment for excellence, the Williams continued their march. Finally, the Lord heard their cry and a storefront building was secured at 310 EL Palacio Plaza, Highway 231 South, Ozark, Alabama. You can read more about our history using the toggle below…
Learn more about the history of our church...
On March 21, 1999, the 3rd Sunday, Lively Stones Ministries Church of God in Christ, became a reality to the city of Ozark, Alabama. Since its birth, Bishop Williams’s famous slogan, “Our Vision is Achievable and Our Targets Will Be Reached,” constantly rings in the ears of the congregation. From opening day, the Lord planted faithful armor bearers to work in the vineyard. Through the ministry, many have been saved and encouraged to think positive, accept challenge, achieve their dreams and goals and fulfill their God-given assignments.
In May 2001, the Lord instructed Pastor Williams and the congregation that it was time to fulfill another portion of the vision. Along with a few dedicated families, the church purchased 9.3 acres of land and began its journey towards building a new sanctuary. On June 30, 2002, the 5th Sunday, the new sanctuary was finally dedicated with the Alabama Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Philip Gardner, bringing the message. Oh, what a day of rejoicing it was for all who attended!
On October 5, 2002, the Lord once again changed the course of the ministry. At a special church meeting, the Pastor and members withdrew their affiliation with the Church of God in Christ and became an independent church and aligned themselves as a covenant church with True Gospel Ministries International Corporation in Suffolk, Virginia under the leadership of Bishop Daniel W. Boone. Also, during the meeting, the church was renamed Lively Stones Ministries Worship Center.
Since 2003, Lively Stones Ministries has continued its march towards a ministry of permanence throughout the city of Ozark. It has established a Hope for Tomorrow Ministry with the Community Action Program which is capable of feeding the needy quarterly, spearheaded an Adopt-a-Child campaign which sponsors needy children for Christmas; organized the annual Ozark’s Black History Award’s Dinner; established an annual Vacation Bible School; established an annual Senior Citizen’s Community Prayer Breakfast; established a weekly noonday prayer service; pioneered the establishment of a ministry organization called the Southeast Fellowship Association; and much more.
Throughout this process, God has sent more laborers to help with the ministry’s transition as they fulfill the mandate of God. Today, the vision of the ministry is to establish a Community Development Corporation which will encompass an Education Awareness Program; a Health Awareness Program; a Soup Kitchen; a Clothing Pantry; a Basic Computer Skills Program; an After School Tutoring Program; a Fine Arts Program and a Recreation Program.
Our focus is to establish a “Hope for Tomorrow Ministry” capable of feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and to provide clothing for those in need within the church and community. Also, our “Youth for Christ Ministry” concentrates on guiding adolescence to become respectful adults and influential in society.
SOUTHEAST FELLOWSHIP ASSOCIATION
The Southeast Fellowship Association is a God-ordained covenant partnership birthed in the mind and spirit of Bishop Curtis L. Williams. This outreach ministry of Lively Stones Ministries Worship Center is designed to be a place of comfort and help for Pastors, Churches and Key Leaders. The Association is available to help move leaders, churches and the body of Christ to the next level of excellence in their apostolic anointing. It is not a gathering of denominations but a collaboration of Pastors, Churches and Key Leaders who desire to fulfill the vision of unity and walk into a covenant relationship.
Benefits of the Covenant Partnership
“Covenant” is a binding agreement we see throughout Scripture where partners are committed to one another for a common purpose. The Southeast Fellowship Association is a commitment to fully participate in a shared vision, values, and mission rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This means any church which Jesus built is invited to join us in this covenant. Partnership with the Southeast Fellowship Association involves a covenant connection with Lively Stones Ministries Worship Center and the Sharing Time and Resources Together (S.T.A.R.T.) Center. It is a commitment to assist other ministries along with Bishop Dr. Curtis and Lady Kathy Williams with fulfilling their God-given destiny to teach and spread the Gospel throughout the world. Every church and leader which becomes a Covenant Partner is changed and is credited to the spiritual accounts of the Southeast Fellowship Association and Bishop Dr. Curtis and Lady Kathy Williams. A Covenant Partner of the Southeast Fellowship Association is someone who is committed to this Ministry and shares its vision. Partnership is not an avenue to raise finances but to assist in building leaders and their churches. This covenant relationship involves a mutual exchange of fellowship. Covenant Partners of this Ministry have a right to connect to the components of this ministry so that they, too, can walk in prosperity spiritually, socially, physically, and financially.
